I usualy ride a 6'2 WRV in all kinds of surf...little mushy crap to winter time bombs and I love it. But then i rode my buddies 9'1 McTavish the day I didn't have my shorty and the surf was 3-4 of foot clean walls.......I stayed out untill the sun went down. This board is the real deal, bad ass, when you're gonna, you'd might as well ride the best longboard a shortboarder can possibly ride, and rip while you're on it. By far the most fun board Ive ever ridden. It's no 6'2 pin tail....but I'll call it the "longest shortboard" I'll ever need. I felt like i spent more time on my feet than on my chest. Zero paddle problems. Plus, this board rips. Everything but airs, but I've been hearing stories....
Here's a few cliche' shortboarder questions..??? Help me out.
How the hell do you "duck dive" these things? or Do you just fight and climb and try to make it over the wave?
I know about the stick the board into the wave and jump your body over the white water while holding on to the nose move that gets you through the washing machine conditions, basicly, If i keep trying, when I'm in bigger surf and have a longboard, will i end up morphing my A+ shortboard duck-diving skills into something that works or do longboards just not duckdive?
I don't like not being able to go under the waves breaking on my dome!
Gottal love it.
