The Guy Takayama Pahoa [Dagger] Performance Round Pin is designed for quick manueverability and excellent energy return. This full carbon fiber high performance longboard features a round pin tail for deep bottom turns without losing speed. The Pahoa will harness energy through turns to project up the wave and rebound with twist and flex with a fiberglass stringer system and hand-tuned fused cell EPS foam core. 12 ounces of fiberglass and carbon fiber in both the deck and bottom add strength, durability and resistance to heel dents. Guy Takayama used these advanced materials and new technology to design a high performance longboard that simply outperforms polyester boards. "Pahoa" in Hawaiian means "Dagger" with the model name laid into the carbon fiber bottom, with artwork by Evan Ozajca.
Guy Takayama carbon fiber surfboards are designed with a vent system in the deck. The vent contains a GORE® membrane that allows air pressure to balance between the EPS foam core of the surfboard and the exterior of the board. Every surfboard would benefit from having a vent, this protects the surfboard from de-lamination when temperature changes cause the air to expand or contract, like when your surfboard is in the sun for long periods of time, locked in a car on a hot day (avoid at all costs!) or traveling on an airplane. No adjustments or regular maintenance is required for carbon fiber surfboard models that have the vent system- just keep the vent clear of sand, wax and dirt so that it can breathe properly.
